On Saturday, October 1 Owen turned two years old! I can't believe we have a two year old!

For Owen's birthday, Gigi (aka my mom) flew down from Utah to celebrate. She came bearing gifts, one of which is the custom made shirt you see Owen wearing. He's obsessed with trains right now, so he was pretty excited. Adorable, right?
For a couple of days leading up to Owen's birthday, dadda taught Owen to answer "two!" when asked how old he was. He also tried teaching him how to hold up two fingers but I don't think those motor skills are quite there yet. A for effort though.

Owen's presents were a hit. He got tons of new books, new plastic golf balls, a Halloween pillowcase, a Halloween plate & silverware, a new dress shirt & a Jump Street (Owen's favorite trampoline place around here) giftcard from my family, a bubble machine & bubbles from the Calvert's and a new driver and golf bag from mom and dad. Can you say spoiled?
Playing with the bubbles and reading all of his new books came later, I promise, but the first order of business was trying on his new golf bag and testing his new driver. Priorities, right?
After dinner, we all came home and sang to Owen with the Rainbow Chip cake that my mom and I made for him. He reacted pretty much the same way he did last year and wasn't a huge fan of us singing to him or of the candles. However, Brad ate pretty much the entire cake on his own so at least someone was happy with it, right?
Before bedtime, Owen tried on his new golf bag one last time. It was a great birthday!

Once he was finished playing with his new golf equipment, it was time for bubbles. Owen loves bubbles and this machine spits out about a million bubbles at once so he was pretty enthralled.

After we were able to pull him away from all of his presents, we went to Chili's for dinner. I'm pretty sure Owen ate half of the chips and queso himself.

I have to take the time to write about how big of a blessing Owen is to us and how much we love this crazy two year old. When you first learn you're having a baby, you have no idea what that child's going to be like or look like or act like. But looking back, it's so easy to see that Heavenly Father knew exactly what he was doing and He knew that Owen would be the perfect addition to our family. We just love his little personality so much and I don't think Brad could have created a more perfect son, even if he had the opportunity.
Owen's current interests are: golf (obsessed), basketball, football, (any type of ball really). He is seriously so athletic and coordinated! He also loves trains, trucks, cars, reading books, etc. His favorite shows currently are Daniel Tiger, Thomas the Train & Timmy Time.
He's 37 inches tall (97+%) and 31.5 pounds (85%).
We couldn't love him any more!!
