Fourth of July in Utah

Our trip to Utah June 29-July 7, 2017

Brad was a groomsman in his friend Brendan Lee's wedding in Salt Lake on July 1st, so we all drove up to Utah for the wedding and to spend time with my family. 

We stopped for the night in Vegas at my sister Amanda's house and got to spend a couple of hours the next morning visiting with them.

Owen was so excited to see and play with Andrew and Ellie, even just for a couple of hours. 

Drive to Utah 

Our drive to Utah was pretty uneventful and the boys and myself all made ourselves comfortable while Brad drove ;) I also found another use for my Boppy nursing pillow!

Shortly after we arrived in Utah, Brad wasted no time and left straight for Brendan's bachelor party which consisted of golf & dinner. I stayed back with the boys at my parents house.

That Friday, Brad and I left the boys at my parents house and went to Brendan and his fiance's family & friends dinner they had at a fancy restaurant. We sat by another one of Brad's BYU roommates, Thomas, and his wife, Monica. Both Brendan and Thomas were roommates with Brad while we were dating!

Random side note: Monica & I have the exact same Neil Lane wedding ring! Brad was the one who noticed, strangely enough.

On Saturday, Brad and I drove to Salt Lake for Brendan and Madi's sealing. After the sealing & wedding party pictures, we picked up Owen & Madden and took them to the reception with us!

That Sunday morning, Brad drove all the way home to Phoenix while I stayed back with the boys to visit my family for a few more days.

Third of July parade!
That Monday, Jess, my parents & I took the boys along with Owen's little friend Olivia to a parade in my parents town. The kids loved it and loved all of the candy thrown at them even more.

Fourth of July! 
Our Fourth of July consisted of playing at the park, swimming, setting off little fireworks with Uncle Chris, eating delicious food and watching fireworks.

Best seat in the house 

PSA: the best place for toddlers to watch fireworks is from the back seat of a car. You get all the views and barely any noise! And they LOVED it.

As a surprise, my cousin Nicole came to visit my family and the boys and I were lucky enough to overlap with her for a day! We hadn't seen each other in far too long and we apparently were too busy catching up to remember to take a picture together! Luckily I had snapped this photo of Owen, Jess & Nicole when we went swimming at least.

Flying home to Phoenix 7.7.17
On Friday, my mom dropped the boys and me off at the Ogden airport. We were sad to leave but Owen was so excited to fly on an airplane.

Both of the boys did really well on the flight! It wasn't until we landed that all heck broke loose. Madden had decided that he was starving just as we landed and Owen did not want to get off of the airplane, hence the tears. Overall though, I'd say flying with both boys by myself for the first time was a success!
